100 Men Who Care – Los Alamos To Host Sept. 19 Event

COMMUNITY News:

100 Men Who Care – Los Alamos, a group of men dedicated to providing immediate and meaningful financial support to local organizations, will be holding its next quarterly event 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19 at the SALA Event Center.

Organized like a “Shark Tank” for nonprofits, the event is only 90 minutes long and in that time the group votes on one of three organizations to support based on short presentations by each. Each group member then writes a check for $100 directly to the winning organization. Through prior events, 100 Men Who Care has collected more than $15,000 for local nonprofits.

Enterprise Bank & Trust is the sponsor for the Sept. 19 event, and will cover all venue and food costs, allowing 100% of donations to go towards charity. 100 Men Who Care is thankful for their support. A shout-out also to the Los Alamos Community Foundation. They facilitated the 100 Men Who Care post COVID-19 restart and are a continuing partner.

The event is modeled after the successful Los Alamos group for women. The two organizations coordinate event dates and nonprofits eligible to apply in order to “spread the wealth”. For nonprofits who want to be considered, the application with email submittal information is linked.

The 100 Men Who Care – Los Alamos group is open to all interested in participating. Each member commits to contributing $100 once a quarter. In addition, members may nominate their favorite local charity. Although an RSVP is not necessary, let the group know you are attending by sending an email to 100menwhocarelosalamos@gmail.com.
