Book Discussion Group Forming In Los Alamos For Learners Of Spanish Language

COMMUNITY News:

A book club for Spanish language learners will be starting at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20 at  Samizdat Bookstore and Teahouse, organized by Katie Bruell.

The group will meet every third Sunday afternoon to discuss (in Spanish) a portion of a Spanish-language book. The first book to be read is Solito, by Javier Zamora, and copies in Spanish are available from Samizdat. For the Oct. 20 meeting, the group will read up to page 33.

Participants at all levels of Spanish speaking and reading are welcome at the book group.

“I, myself, am also a learner; there won’t be a teacher there, but hopefully we can all help each other,” Bruell said.

If there are many attendees, participants can break into smaller groups so that everyone gets plenty of speaking time.

The book club is free and open to all. For questions, contact Bruell at ktbruell@gmail.com.
