Pajarito First To Open In New Mexico This Saturday!

  • Monster Storm Brings Historic Opening To Ski Area

Pajarito Mountain will open this Saturday, Nov. 9  for its ski season, five weeks before its scheduled opening date. The mountain will open with Aspen lift.

The mountain received 29” of snow in the 72 hours, allowing the resort to get open.

“This is historic for Pajarito Mountain. It’s been about 40 years since Pajarito has been able to open before Thanksgiving,” Pajarito Mountain General Manager Jasen Bellomy said. “This is an amazing way to kick off our ski season at the little bird and conditions are going to be incredible with 15”-25” more inches of snow in the forecast.”

Lifts will operate 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • First chair photo opportunity will be at 9 a.m. at Aspen lift.
  • No ski school on opening weekend
