The community is invited to attend the 48th annual candle-lit procession of “Las Posadas”, 5:30-7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8 on the Santa Fe Plaza.
“Las Posadas” is presented by the Holy Cross Catholic Church of Española, Coro Agua de Fria and Santa Fe Fiesta, Inc. with participation from New Mexico History Museum (NMHM).
Note: The Museum will close at 3 p.m. to prepare for this free public event.
- What: NMHM will serve cookies and hot apple cider outside under the Palace of the Governors’ Portal as part of the annual candle-lit procession of Las Posadas. The procession reenacts the journey of Mary and Joseph as they searched for a place to stay in Bethlehem and travels around the Santa Fe Plaza, ending at the plaza bandstand with traditional carols. Arrive early to receive a candle and walk in the procession. The event is free to all ages.
