Los Alamos Police Department Offers VIN Inspections

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) announced that Det. Cindy Garcia, Cpl. Ted Garcia and Cpl. Kyle Gonzales have recently been certified as Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Inspectors.

To better serve the community, the LAPD will now offer VIN inspection services 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the last Wednesday of each month. This new service will be available to all community members and aims to ensure the accuracy and legality of vehicle documentation.

“We are excited to provide this service to our community,” Deputy Chief James Rodriguez said. “It’s another step in our commitment to ensuring safety and compliance for all vehicle owners in Los Alamos.”

VIN inspections are crucial for various reasons, including vehicle registration, ownership verification and theft prevention. LAPD encourages community members to take advantage of this convenient, no-cost service.

For more information or to schedule an appointment for a VIN inspection, contact LAPD at 505.662.8222 and ask to speak with one of the officers mentioned.
