COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County experienced a community-wide communications outage March 11, 2025, that affected the ability to provide a Zoom option or a standard recording of the in-person County Council meeting held that evening.

The meeting was held in-person as posted, and members of the public and the media did attend. The Los Alamos County Clerk’s Office was able to take minutes as required.

Prior to the meeting, it was determined the Zoom option would not be available; however, staff was able to provide a backup solution to record the meeting. That audio-only recording was uploaded and is available to the public via the County Legistar page.

Since the March 11 meeting, staff has addressed the need for additional redundancy options – specifically in regard to providing recordings of Council meetings. A solution was found and tested at the March 18, 2025, County Council meeting. This option will be utilized as needed in the future.

Although County Council meetings are posted as in-person meetings, the County recognizes the value of providing a variety of methods for members of the public and the media to attend and participate.
