NMHS News:
Jemez Historic Site offers a free hands-on workshop teaching people how to create various yarn fringes on a fleece blanket 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Sunday, April 13.
Come learn how to add yarn fringe to polyester fleece blankets with Tessa Riley from Jemez Pueblo. As she demonstrates her work, participants can follow along with her to learn how to add different colored yarns using different fringe designs to the edges of Native-patterned fleece blankets. Materials will be provided, and participants can take home the blankets to finish and keep. There will be a half-hour lunch break, so bring a lunch. The workshop is free to attend but limited to only 10 people. Call 575.829.3530 to register.
This is a great opportunity to learn a new craft technique from a local Jemez Pueblo community member while in a beautiful setting.
