Los Alamos Arts Council Shares Special Thanks

By BRANDI ENGEMAN
Executive Director
Los Alamos Arts Council

On behalf of the Los Alamos Arts Council, we want to say thank you … thank you to all of the community members, volunteers, sponsors, donors and cheerleaders who helped us to have a fantastic spring season in and around Los Alamos.

We were so pleased to see so many people enjoy our annual Kite Festival. With close to 3,000 in attendance over the two beautiful days, we couldn’t have done it without our volunteers and our sponsors. Enterprise Bank & Trust, Wheeed! and Los Alamos MainStreet & Creative District, thank you so much for your financial support and for sending volunteers to help us build kites!

We hosted a few wonderful events including a return performance by Luca Ciarla, violinist, and visiting artists during our Daytime Performance Series. Our gallery kicked off a brand new season with four fabulous exhibits: In/Motion, Art & Nature, Mountain & Desert Meditations, and the third annual Come As You Are. Featuring over 80 artists and hosting well over 200 pieces between them, our exhibits were a great way to celebrate spring in our gallery space.

Rounding out our spring was our annual Spring Craft Fair. Over 100 vendors, and 3,500 patrons made the lawn at Fuller Lodge an art extravaganza and we were fortunate to launch our first ever Pajarito Literary Festival (look for the return of the PLF in October 2026!) with 13 authors, poets, illustrators, and game designers delighting their audience in a variety of talks and panels during the weekend activities. A special thanks to our community partners for this event: Creative Industries Division of New Mexico, Los Alamos MainStreet & Creative District, Samizdat Bookstore and Teahouse, Bathtub Row Brewing Cooperative, Restore Balance and Yoga, and all of the authors and guest speakers at the literary festival! These are just a few highlights of the events we undertook between February and the end of May and now that summer is in full swing we’re all taking a collective moment to focus on summer camp and classroom activities before our fall season kicks off!

We are so thankful to a community that continues to show up and support all of our artistic and cultural endeavors. Whether in the classroom, the gallery, or in a special venue or location, we are proud to host a variety of cultural events right here in Los Alamos for young and old alike and are always excited to meet with each of you when we see you at our programs.

Finally, we want to tell you about a special funding opportunity that has presented itself. Throughout June we are able to double your impact through donations thanks to a donor who will match all donations up to $5,000. This is an amazing opportunity to see our small, grassroots efforts amplified thanks to the support and generosity of this patron of the arts! You can double your donation today by visiting our website or making a donation via mail or in person at the Fuller Lodge Art Center during open hours. You can learn more about how our organization funds our programs on our website or set up a time to meet with a member of our executive team to learn more about sponsorships, volunteering, teaching, and more.

Thank you so much from all of us at the Arts Council to all of you!
