HCA Seeks Vendors For State Employee Dental And Vision Benefits, Proposal Deadline Aug. 18

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Health Care Authority (HCA) today issued requests for proposals (RFPs) to administration of dental and vision insurance benefits for more than 65,000 state employees and local public workers. 

“This is a critical opportunity to modernize the dental and vision benefits available to public employees and their families,” Alex Castillo Smith said, Health Care Authority Deputy Cabinet Secretary. “We’re looking for partners committed to affordability, access, and quality care for New Mexicans.” 

The HCA administers state health benefits, which provides dental coverage to more than 65,000 New Mexicans and vision coverage to more than 55,000 New Mexicans across the state.  

These procurements are part of HCA’s continued reforms to ensure that members receive high-quality, affordable health care that meets their needs.  

Selected vendors will be expected to improve member experience, deliver measurable health outcomes, and maintain broad, stable provider networks.  

The HCA is seeking proposals that prioritize: 

  • Affordable and cost-effective coverage options;
  • Expanding the network of providers available to our members;
  • Evidence-based benefit design; and  
  • Exceptional customer service. 

“We encourage qualified vendors to respond to these RFPs and join us in our mission to make improve the health and economic security of New Mexicans,” Castillo Smith added. 

Vendors interested in submitting proposals may access the official RFP documents on the New Mexico Sunshine Portal or through the HCA procurement website.

The deadline to submit proposals is August 18.
