Los Alamos Master Gardeners Association To Present Talk On ‘Invasive Insects–Vigilance Is Key!’ Thursday Aug. 7

Master Gardeners News:

At its next meeting, the Los Alamos Master Gardeners Association will present Bethany Abrahamson, Cooperative Extension Agriculture Agent from Sandoval County, who will speak on the dangers and realities of invasive insects in New Mexico.

Having worked as an entomology and nursery inspector with the New Mexico Department of Agriculture for nearly 10 years, Abrahamson helped protect the state from invasive pests, including Japanese beetle and pecan weevil.

She will alert attendees at the meeting to the greatest threats and how to identify changes in the landscapes that may be harbingers of an invasion.

The meeting is 6:30-7:30 p.m., on Thursday, Aug. 7, in the White Rock Library.
