Champions of Youth Ambitions (C’YA) generally hosts a College & Military Day, the first Friday of September. You simply wear and share your school colors. This year we’re on the lookout for graduates of Idaho State University ahead of homecoming. Yesterday, the Bengals held their back-to-school tradition of a community parade with a game against Utah State.

This weekend ISU will play UNM in Albuquerque. Coach Eck of UNM was a former Coach for the University of Idaho, a rival of ISU. According to Senior Associate Athletic Director of Development and External Relations Crew Keller, ISU Head Coach Cody Hawkins enters his third year at the helm of Bengal football. Keller says that Coach Eck and Coach Hawkins are quite familiar with one another.

“This program continues to rise under the guidance and leadership of Coach Hawkins. Hawkins has orchestrated a remarkable turnaround as he led the program to five wins last season—the most for the team since 2018,” said Crew Keller, Idaho State University Alumni Association. “Sporting a new defensive scheme this year, the program looks to continue their upward ascent in the always challenging Big Sky Conference—one of the best in all of the Football Conference Subdivision (FCS).”

Idaho State University’s Homecoming for 2025 is October 25 against the Northern Arizona Wildcats in the ICCU Dome, in Pocatello. One of many traditions for ISU is to celebrate “Bengal Wednesday.” All Bengals are invited to wear their black and orange every Wednesday and stand with the Bengals, united in pride. Maybe we can see a sea of black and orange in Los Alamos on Wednesdays from now until homecoming.
