State Treasurer Continues Statewide Tour, Webinar Series To Empower New Mexicans & Celebrate National Financial Literacy Day

STATE News:

SANTA FE — To mark National Financial Literacy Day on Capitol Hill, hosted by the Jump$tart Coalition and the National Endowment for Financial Education, State Treasurer Laura M. Montoya is continuing her Financial Fitness School Tour and Financial Fitness Webinar Series in partnership with J.P. Morgan.

The Financial Fitness School Tour introduces financial literacy education directly into classrooms across New Mexico to teach and contextualize foundational budgeting, saving, and money management skills for all ages. By visiting schools that either already have or are exploring financial literacy requirement options, Treasurer Montoya is bringing attention to the growing demand for personal finance education among students. “Financial fitness is not just about making cents, it’s about making sense of your financial future,” Treasurer Montoya said. “When we encourage students to visualize their financial goals, we see genuine curiosity and motivation to learn the skills that can turn their goals into tangible reality.”

In addition, the State Treasurer’s Office is continuing a series of free Financial Fitness Webinars in partnership with J.P. Morgan to bring awareness and understanding to real-world financial topics. These webinars are free, open to the public, and specially crafted to support New Mexicans of all ages and backgrounds in their financial fitness journeys. To expand access, one of the sessions will be offered in Spanish. “Our Financial Fitness Webinars offer an easy, practical, and welcoming space to pick up financial skills that can make a real difference in New Mexicans’ lives,” Treasurer Montoya added. “Whether you’re just getting started or reevaluating your finances, I urge every New Mexican to join our sessions and build a better financial future.”
