100MWC News:
A group of men dedicated to providing immediate and meaningful financial support to local organizations, will be holding its next quarterly event 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at the SALA Event Center. Organized like a “Shark Tank” for nonprofits, the group votes on one of three organizations to support based on short presentations by each. Each group member then writes a check for $100 directly to the winning organization.
Through prior events, we have collected over $30,000 for local nonprofits. If you’d like to help make a difference in our community please join us.
New members will donate only $50 at this event, which will be matched by $50 from anonymous donors. We would like to introduce new members to our organization to increase our impact on the community.
The meeting will be held in SALA’s banquet style venue and will begin with socializing over food and drinks. Yuan’s Dumpling and Noodle House will cater for the event.
Of the nominated charities, the following three were randomly chosen for consideration at the event:
- LA Cares
- Los Alamos Family Council
- Odyssey of the Mind
We will also hear a brief update from our June 12 event winner, Family Strengths Network, who will discuss how their award was implemented.
Los Alamos Children’s Dentistry is our event sponsor, so they cover all venue and food costs, allowing 100% of our donations to go towards charity. We are thankful for their sponsorship of 100 Men Who Care – Los Alamos. We would also like to give a shout out to the Los Alamos Community Foundation, who provide administrative support to 100 MWC Los Alamos.
The 100 Men Who Care – Los Alamos group is open to all interested in participating. Each member commits to contributing $100 once a quarter. In addition, members may nominate their favorite local charity. If you would like to join us please scan the QR code.
