Acupuncture Center Of Los Alamos News:

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medical technique that is 3,000 years old. It uses very fine needles to stimulate acupuncture points within the body. The art of Acupuncture aims to recalibrate and rebalance health by promoting the smooth flow of energy. It does this by putting the body into a state of relaxation where the body is now able to heal itself.

At the Acupuncture Center of Los Alamos, owner Dr. Aimee Price and Dr. Erika Bittner treat a wide variety of physical, mental and emotional ailments. The World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes 31 conditions that have been shown in controlled trials to be treated effectively by Acupuncture. However, many people are not aware that Acupuncture works at preventing various health conditions and diseases before they happen. Both Dr. Price and Dr. Bittner use acupuncture as a preventative medicine.

While many types of standard medical care involve the use of treating symptoms after a condition or a disease has been diagnosed, acupuncture balances the body and strengthens the immune system to prevent medical conditions and diseases from even starting. If left untreated, sometimes minor symptoms can turn into much larger conditions. Many of these conditions end up with people either needing surgery or pharmaceuticals in the long term, which can cause other problems and side effects as well.

The good news is that with regular Acupuncture sessions we can help alleviate and balance these issues, bringing the body back into harmony.

Usually, we recommend once a month acupuncture sessions for preventative care if the body is in a healthy state to begin with. If someone is already having symptoms then we recommend either weekly or bi-weekly treatments for 4-6 weeks (with custom herbal medicine if needed), then once they are starting to feel better we can reduce the treatments to once a month for preventative care.

Dr. Price and Dr. Bittner are trained in Acupuncture, Custom Herbal Medicine, Sports Acupuncture, Electro-Acupuncture, Neuro-Acupuncture, Trigger Point Therapy as well as Dry Needling.
