Three pianists from the Northeast District I of the Professional Music Teachers of New Mexico (PMTNM) were awarded First Prize in their respective levels at the 2023 State Honors Piano Competition, which is held annually.

Hannah Li of Los Alamos was awarded first prize in Level Two (ages 10 and 11) for her performance of Frederic Chopin’s Grand Valse Brillante. This waltz is one of Chopin’s most beloved compositions, for it shows technical brilliance and graceful charm. Read More

Los Alamos Little Theatre (LALT) announces it has to cancel its final  performances of “Reefer Madness” Friday and Saturday due to cast illness.

County Environmental Services Closed In Observance Of Thanksgiving Day And Day After

Los Alamos County Environmental Services will be closed in observance of Thanksgiving Day and the Day After Thanksgiving Thursday, Nov. 23, and Friday, Nov. 24.

This includes operations at the Eco Station and the Overlook Convenience Center, as well as residential and commercial trash, recycling and yard trimming services.   

Residents whose trash collection day falls on the observed holiday or the day after Thanksgiving place your materials out Wednesday, Nov. 22.

Dance Arts Los Alamos (DALA) will host its second annual Nutcracker Tea Party 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Historic Fuller Lodge.
