Los Alamos Daily Post reporter Kirsten Laskey has been honored with two state writing awards from the New Mexico Press Association. The announcement of her awards was made Saturday night during the annual New Mexico Press Association state convention in Albuquerque.

Pianist Chenxing Huang To Perform Nov. 1 At Fuller Lodge

The Los Alamos Arts Council (LAAC) has announced pianist Chenxing Huang for the Daytime Performance Series concert noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1 in the Pajarito Room of Fuller Lodge.

LAAC hosts a concert on the first Wednesday of every month featuring a curated slate of musicians, performers and speakers. These are free to the public and all ages are welcome.

Chenxing will play several pieces in the hour-long concert including compositions by Claude Debussy, Frederic Chopin, Franz Liszt and modern composer Zhao Zhang.

This November, Los Alamos Little Theatre’s 80th anniversary season builds up steam — or, ahem, smoke — with the musical “Reefer Madness,” written by Kevin Murphy and Dan Studney, about two wholesome teens gone — literally — to pot.
