Jack Stafford is the third quarter winner of the 2020 Los Alamos Daily Post Photography Contest. The Post first introduced readers to Stafford in March 2017 when he was a Civil Air Patrol Cadet accepting the General Billy Mitchell Award from Major Mark Peters. Daily Postcard: Hermit Thrush lingers in the backyard of a home on Barranca Mesa. Hermit Thrushes hop and scrape in leaf litter while foraging. They perch low to the ground on fallen logs and shrubs, often wandering into open areas such as forest clearings or trails. A pair of Western Bluebirds are lifting spirits all over Los Alamos recently as they find a water hole in a frozen pond and stop to take a drink recently in the yard of a residence on Barranca Mesa. Western Bluebirds are highly social and usually feed in flocks during the non-breeding season. They hunt for terrestrial insects by dropping to the ground from a low perch. Western Bluebirds also frequently feed on berries in trees. Western Bluebirds rely on trees both for nesting cavities and hunting perches, and also perch on fences and utility lines. SANTA FE — The New Mexico Film Office (NMFO) Director Amber Dodson announced Tuesday, that in Fiscal Year 2020 (FY20), NMFO had 135 participants in its Film Crew Advancement Program (FCAP).
FCAP is a workforce development program, aimed at providing career advancement training for New Mexico’s film crew.
