Raffle Winner Announced For Carson Cannon Scholarship
Carla Valentine, right, wins the afghan created by Shari Mills, left, who raffled it to raise money for a scholarship fund in memory of Carson Cannon. Carson is Reed and Heidi Cannon’s 16-year-old son who died suddenly last December. He would have graduated May 2021 from Los Alamos High School. Mills hoped to raise $1,000 for the scholarship fund but through the generosity of the community raised more than $3,000. ‘It is absolutely incredible how people have given,’ Mills said. The Bradbury Science Museum Association (BSMA) presents Night With a Nerd Virtual Bingo – Binary Numbers, 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13 via zoom video conferencing.
