So it is a dream come true for her to be presenting her second novel “All the Beautiful Girls” to a Los Alamos audience at 7 p.m. April 26 at Fuller Lodge as part of the Los Alamos County Library System’s Authors Speak series.

Adam Baker did this painting based on an old photograph taken sometime between 1886 and 1900 of the town of Hermosa New Mexico. He first saw the photo when his daughter had been assigned a report for her New Mexico history class. As Baker studied the hodgepodge of characters in the photo, he knew he had to paint it, but what he discovered in the photo blew him away!

Community Picnic & Fiber Arts At Los Luceros Sunday

Pajarito Environmental Education Center, New Mexico Historic Sites and the Amigos de Los Luceros are partnering to host a community picnic and fiber arts activities at the Los Luceros Historic Site.

This event, which is the first in a series called Culture and Nature, is noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 15 and free and open to the public.

Community members are invited to meet at Los Luceros Historic Site, off State Route 68. Bring a lunch for the picnic, which begins at noon, followed at 1 p.m. with activities including weaving with natural materials and a sheep-shearing event.
