International Folk Art Market (IFAM) Series: Folk Art Connections – experience the tradition of Mexican cartonería — the centuries-old art of sculpting with paper and paste — in an immersive workshop led by a master artist, Christian Godoy Rodríguez from Silao, Guanajuato.
This is a chance to create a cartonería figure while learning the history, symbolism, and techniques behind one of Mexico’s most colorful folk art forms.

Santa Fe Book Arts Group annual multi-vendor art flea market will be held, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at St. John’s Methodist Church in Santa Fe.

Ongoing work being pursued by the Board:
- Senior Center Security Gate: After obtaining permission to use the Zia symbol, the Board voted to recommend to County Council the purchase of “Los Alamos Heritage Gate” by Jonathan Watson to be installed at the Betty Ehart Center. This item will be on County Council Sept. 9, 2025 agenda.

ALBUQUERQUE — New Mexico PBS (NMPBS) congratulates the Indigenously Positive series production team for winning a 2025 Indigenous Media Award for Best Multimedia, for their story, “Gaza looms over election for some Native people.”

“Eddington”, released July 19, is playing through today at our local movie theater. Eddington is a contemporary Western from Ari Aster dropped into the mess that was the pandemic lock-down of May and June 2020.
The movie starts off as slow local drama, and morphs into dark comedy. We stop chuckling as it becomes a serious crime story, then an over-the-top thriller with guns and explosions. The best reason for New Mexico folks to see it, besides its big-name actors, is to recognize Truth or Consequences as the real star of the show.
