“The Girl on the Train” is a new thriller based on a popular British novel by Paula Hawkins.
The book, published in January 2015, quickly hit the New York Times Bestseller List, gaining the notice of those who look for stories to bring to the screen. The film opened Oct. 7 nationwide.

With the days getting dark earlier, the Los Alamos Choir’s Pumpkin Patch at 1100 Canyon Road, in the old Canyon School parking lot, has news hours.
The Patch now closes at 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Proceeds from this annual community fundraiser benefit the LAHS Choir.
Also, the Patch opens at 12:30 p.m. Wednesdays, and is able to take credit cards during most shifts.

Los Alamos Author Laura KellyLaura Kelly has a full schedule; it includes teaching fitness classes at the Los Alamos Family YMCA and working at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Still, Kelly wanted to add one more thing to her to-do list: write a novel.
