The Sangre de Cristo Chorale invites new members to join its ranks. All voice parts are welcome, with alto 2, tenor and bass singers especially needed.
Auditions are 7-9 p.m., Aug. 1 and Aug. 8 at First Presbyterian Church, Pope Hall, 208 Grant Ave., in Santa Fe.
Auditioning singers are asked to bring a short classical piece, and to be prepared for some sight singing and brief vocalizations. Expectations of singers include previous choral experience, sight-reading ability, some foreign language skills, and regular rehearsal attendance. Read More

By CYNTHIA BIDDLECOMB “Star Trek Beyond” is the latest addition to the new Star Trek franchise, boldly begun in 2009 with a young cast. The first film in the franchise was successful, enough so that in 2013, Star Trek into Darkness was released with the same actors. The 2nd Annual ¡Fiesta Los Alamos! is just around the corner, and tickets are selling quickly. Last year the event sold out. The organizing group, Los Alamos Rotary STARS, has just announced an exciting schedule of entertainment and activities for the event, which takes place 5-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6 at Fuller Lodge. ¡Fiesta Los Alamos! promises to be a fun and magical evening for all ages again this year.
