“Chungking Express” Screening at Mesa Public Library
Review by Kelly Dolejsi

And, it turns out – no offense to my Seattle-born (go figure) Anglo husband – I sometimes like Chinese men.
This is a great movie, but to be honest, it took me a long time to realize it. I was well into the film before I started to understand and care about its Read More

Film Review: The Snapper
Review by Kelly Dolejsi
Pregnant women get asked many questions as they await their babies: When are you due? Is it a boy or a girl? Have you picked out a name? Have you written a birth plan?
Or even, sometimes: Who’s the father?

Her co-workers, friends, parents — everyone Read More

TK Thompson is in an Artistic Groove
Photographer TK Thompson. Courtesy Photo
By Mandy Marksteiner
“I like jazz,” said TK Thompson, a photographer who will be showing his work in the Springtime Art Show at Karen Wray Fine Art Gallery April 20 to June 1. “Jazz musicians are free spirits. They’re letting it all hang out. They take risks. I’ve played music all my life. I know what it feels like to be in the groove. It’s magical. When you’re expressing emotions with your music, you can feel it in your gut. That’s why I do art and music.”
Thompson admits that it’s hard to “let it flow,” because, as responsible adults, we’re trained to suppress Read More
