Join the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History at 6 p.m. Aug. 11 for the first episode of their new virtual event series, Atomic History Speaker Series.
Their esteemed Vice President of the Board of Trustees, Zabrina Johal, Senior Director of Strategic Development with General Atomics, will be speaking about current advances in nuclear energy. Come learn how the nucleus is integral to powering the future!
This event is $10 to attend virtually for non-members, Museum members are $5, and Museum Atomic History Patron members are free. Advance registration is required to attend. Donations are appreciated.

About the Speaker
Johal has 20 years of technical management and program leadership experience. She started her U.S. Navy career on the USS Paul Hamilton, where she served as the first female officer and led difficult female integration efforts. She advanced to nuclear engineering propulsion officer on the USS Carl Vinson, a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier, and managed reactor operations during Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Persian Gulf.
After leaving the Navy, Johal joined General Atomics, where she is currently Senior Director of Strategic Development. Johal directs strategic initiatives that support government, military, and commercial customers, serving at the intersection of technology development and business maturation to realize high-impact solutions.
Johal has a passion for expanding diversity in science and technology and serves on several industry boards in support of women in STEM. She holds Master’s degrees in Business Administration from the University of San Diego (USD) and Engineering Management from Old Dominion University, and a B.S. in Combined Sciences from Santa Clara University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Leadership Studies with an emphasis on gender studies in highly technical fields at USD.
