Atomicomedy News:

Hey, Los Alamosans! Come get your funny bone tickled with a night of AtomiComedy Saturday, Feb. 17, at Muy Salsas, 1315 Trinity Drive.

Tickets are $10, available at the door, for this evening with eight comedians. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 8:30 p.m.. Or come early and have dinner before the show.

David Zimmermann organized the evening, his second AtomiComedy production in Los Alamos.

“Santa Fe has Wayward Comedy and I thought we should have something similar in Los Alamos. Our first show was Dec. 2 and it went well enough for me to try to make it a regular thing,” he said.

Wayward Comedy describes itself as “Santa Fe’s best and only comedy group.” AtomiComedy aspires to the same level of achievement in Los Alamos.

Saturday’s show will feature a mix of comedians from Los Alamos, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque.

“I hope that people will laugh a lot, want more shows in the future, and buy enough drinks to make the whole thing worth it for Muy Salsas,” Zimmermann said.

Muy Salsas owner Christine Martinez said she was amazed by all the performers at the December show and is looking forward to hosting another night of comedy in Los Alamos.

Saturday’s show will be emceed by Taylor Cheek and will feature Andrea Albert, Thomas Graves, John Gustafson, Tyler Lovely, TJ Jones, Sara Myers, and Zimmermann.

Persons attending can expect a lot of PG-13 material and some even a step beyond.

Zimmermann said he was encouraged to try stand-up by Isabel Madley, a well-established (just ask her) Santa Fe comedian. Madley hosted the December show at Muy Salsas.

“I’d always wanted to give it a try, but never had the guts. Isabel said that I had nothing to lose, so I figured I’d give it a try. I’m still doing it a year and a half later,” Zimmermann said.

Zimmermann hopes that by creating this opportunity other latent comedians in Los Alamos will come forward and pick up the microphone. It’s time to find out how hilarious a plutonium chemist can be!

Start getting that material ready, folks, for the next edition of AtomiComedy. And see you Saturday night!
