The Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) seeks Supervisory Statisticians (Social Science) to maintain, enhance and expand its statistical data collections and programs that span the criminal justice system.
Job duties include:
- supervising a group of employees performing work at the GS-9 to GS-14 levels
- performing statistical data collection activities, such as preparing, processing, analyzing, and coordinating ad hoc and standing collection requirements
- consulting and collaborating with government officials, professional associations, and others to advise on the application of statistics to criminal justice issues, policies, and programs
- providing administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit and the human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised.
