“Being able to be part of the healing journey with a person is truly an honor.” –Michelle Wilde
Michelle Wilde, LPCC, LMT owns Mullein Leaf Wellness Institute in Los Alamos. She is a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor, Body-Connection Coach and Licensed Massage Therapist, specializing in integrative, holistic care for mind & body.
She is also a certified 7 Principles for Making Marriage Work Leader, a strategic intervention coach through the Robbins-Madanes Institute, a Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises provider, a nutritional herbalist, and is trained through the HeartMath Institute to provide HRV biofeedback.
Wilde also specializes in trauma recovery counseling, including EMDR, somatic therapies, couples counseling, sex therapy and psychoneuroimmunology, massage, Irlen screenings and health coaching.
“I first felt the desire to go into the health and wellness field as a high school student. I intended to be a doctor, so I took the AP Anatomy class my high school offered, as well as everything else I could find in my very small town,” Wilde said. “It turned out that medical school was too big of a financial leap for my parents, so I ended up going to the closest university and getting a degree in accounting. Later in life I circled back around to learning herbology, massage, counseling and many other forms of alternative healing. Overall, this has worked out very well for me.”
“The most rewarding thing about what I do is to see the magnificent changes that can come to people’s lives when they experience relief from their pain and distress, especially when it has been a long time coming. Being able to be part of the healing journey with a person is truly an honor,” Wilde said.
She also spoke about a challenge she sometimes encounters in her line of work.
“Helping people understand the timeline for healing (often longer than we’d like) and how to work with the natural processes of the body to bring about a deeper change that addresses more than symptoms can be challenging,” she said.
Wilde employs reflexologist and holistic modalities practitioner Rebekah Harkey and Becky Hill who specializes in Swedish Massage.
In conclusion, Wilde said, “I believe helping people learn to help themselves regulate their mind and body is critical to happy and healthy individuals, families and communities.”
