SANTA FE — Del Norte LOV (Living Our Vision) Foundation, a nonprofit organization and extension of Del Norte Credit Union, announces the opening of the 2023 Scholarship Program aimed at awarding $16,000 to local graduating seniors or equivalent.

ALBUQUERQUE — All New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions’ (NMDWS) offices, including the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Operations Center, will be closed Monday, Jan. 16, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

New Mexico Supreme Court Finds Double Jeopardy Violation In Multiple Convictions For Farmington Business Break-In
SANTA FE — A San Juan County man’s convictions for breaking and entering and burglary of a Farmington business violated the constitutional protection against double jeopardy, the state Supreme Court ruled Thursday.
In a unanimous opinion, the Court ordered the district court in San Juan County to vacate one of Franklin Begaye’s convictions and resentence him. He was originally sentenced to 16 years in prison for the 2017 break-in. His sentence was enhanced because he had prior felony convictions.
