Unemployment Insurance Benefit Tax Forms Sent Out To Over 170,000 New Mexicans

ALBUQUERQUE — New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) sent out the last batch of 1099-G forms this week, with over 170,000 sent out over the month of January.

1099-G forms include all Unemployment Insurance payments that a claimant may have received in 2021, this may also include additional payments such as Lost Wages Assistance (LWA), Return to Work Support Payment, and Federal Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) under the CARES Act.

Los Alamos STEAM Lab and Samizdat Bookstore and Teahouse announce a new collaboration. 

This March they will jointly open in a new space at 174 Central Park Square.

New Mexico December Unemployment Rate: 5.8 Precent

New Mexico’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 5.8 percent in December, down from 6.2 percent in November and down from 8.6 percent in the previous year.

The national unemployment rate in December was 3.9 percent, down from 4.2 percent in November and down from 6.7 percent in December 2020.

Total nonagricultural payroll employment grew by 52,000 jobs, or 6.7 percent, between December 2020 and December 2021. All gains came from the private sector, which was up 52,900 jobs, or 8.8 percent.

FLACL Friends Bookstore Expands Business Hours

FLACL News:

The FLACL (Friends of Los Alamos County Libraries) Friends Bookstore has expanded its business hours again. The bookstore is now open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

With continuation of being open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, the bookstore has almost returned to prepandemic operating hours.

The Friends Bookstore still maintains safety protocols with facemask requirements, limited occupancy of no more than four customers at a time and asks that only one reasonably sized bag or box be donated at one time.
