Champions of Youth Ambitions (C’YA) continues the goal of raising $1,000 to recognize Nambe Pharmacy for its COVID-19 work. Shown here are Nambe Pharmacy owners Frances and Tom Lovett. The Nambe Pharmacy locations in Los Alamos and Santa Fe provided more than 14,000 vaccines since January. As of Sunday, $231 has been raised for the recognition project. Federal Judge Orders NMDoT To Issue Permits For Areas With Little Or No Broadband Internet Access

NMSurf News:

The Federal District Court of New Mexico has issued a preliminary injunction against NMDoT, ordering them to issue two right­of­way permits to NMSurf, Inc., a local Telecom and Fixed Wireless Provider.

NMSurf applied for two public right­of­way permits within NMDoT’s jurisdiction for the placement of two utility poles for the purpose of providing broadband and telecom services in areas where there is little or no broadband.

These specific areas are the East Mountains and south of the City of Santa Fe.

Code Ordinance 02-317 proposes the creation of the Downtown Pedestrian Retail Overlay Zone (DT-PRO). It was passed by the Planning and Zoning Commission and will be introduced next week for a hearing by the County Council on July 27.

The ordinance has technical and legal defects, would not accomplish its intended purpose, and is an illegal and unconstitutional intrusion on the property rights of our struggling downtown business community. I urge Los Alamos Citizens to oppose this ordinance and the County Council to defeat it.

FBI Offers Reward To Catch Man With Rifle, Woman With Handgun Who Robbed Albuquerque Credit Union And Bank

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of two armed suspects who robbed a northeast Albuquerque bank Saturday, June 26 and an Albuquerque credit union the day before.
