SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) announced today the updated statewide COVID-19 map for the two-week period beginning Dec. 30, with 32 counties at the Red Level.

Twenty-eight counties improved in at least one of the two health gating criteria metrics, and 21 counties improved in both health metrics.

Environment Department COVID-19 Watchlist: Dec. 29

The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) has updated its daily Rapid Response COVID-19 Watchlist, which includes New Mexico places of employment that have had two or more rapid responses in the last 14 days.

There are currently 72 establishments on the Watchlist.

New Mexico Minimum Wage Increase Goes Into Effect Jan. 1

ALBUQUERQUE — New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) advises employers and workers that New Mexico’s minimum wage is increasing, effective Friday, Jan. 1, 2021.

This increase is in accordance with an amendment to the New Mexico Minimum Wage Act signed into law by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham April 1, 2019.

Effective Jan. 1, 2021:

  • State minimum wage: $10.50 per hour; and
  • State tipped minimum wage: $2.55 per hour.
