COUNTY News:
In addition to the traffic control currently in place, starting Sunday, Central Avenue at 15th Street will be Closed to Through Traffic with a complete closure of Central just west of the Post Office driveway and closure of 20th Street at Central.
Library driveway will remain accessible from eastbound Central. Bathtub Row at Central remains closed and should be accessed from the north.
This traffic control is necessary for the contractor to begin roadbed preparations between west of Bathtub Row and 20th Street. The prep work should take two to three days at the most.
The Atomic City Transit Express Route buses will continue to drop off riders at the bus stop west of the Post Office. Mail delivery trucks also will be accommodated.
The contractor plans to begin paving Thursday, Nov. 6; paving should take two to three days, depending on weather temperatures. Paving will be followed by installation of the crosswalks and any remaining concrete valley gutters. All traffic control should be off the roadway on or before Nov. 17.
Public Works staff and the contractor would like to thank the community for their continued patience as we work to complete this project. Please call 505.662.8150 or send an email to lacpw@lacnm.us with any questions or concerns.
