A charge of unlawful taking of a motor vehicle against Andrea R. Rivera of Los Alamos was dismissed without prejudice Sept. 1 in Los Alamos Magistrate Court.

Rivera was charged with the crime April 21 when she was allegedly a passenger in a vehicle being driven by another woman who did not have permission to drive it. Later the driver alleged Rivera was driving the vehicle and she didn’t know where it was.

Rivera had been slated for a preliminary hearing Sept. 1, however Deputy District Attorney Kent Wahlquist dismissed the charge.
