Gracias is a new show during the month of July at Collected Works Bookstore in Santa Fe.
Charlie and Debbie Carrillo were victims of a terrible car accident in February. Charlie and Debbie were unable to work for several months, had tremendous hospital bills, and their car was totaled. To help with the expenses, Collected Works Bookstore and LPD Press/Rio Grande Books have sponsored a benefit with art and books of Charlie and Debbie. Gracias is a “thank you” to the community for helping the Carrillos.
Retablos, pottery, and tiles will be on display at Collected Works and well as the last Charlie Carrillo: Tradition & Soul book, Saints of the Pueblos, Shoes for the Santo Niño, and many more books will be on sale. Proceeds from the sale of art and books will go to the Carrillos for medical expenses.
The art show opens July 2 and runs through July 20; there will be a reception with the Carrillos at 4 p.m., July 16, at the Collected Works store.
