Los Alamos County Public Works Department invites the public to a hybrid meeting to discuss the site selection for a multi-court Tennis Complex. Scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 in room 330 at the Municipal Building, 1000 Central or via Zoom.
The community will hear a presentation by the County’s consultant, Groundwork Studio.
Additionally, staff welcomes public feedback on the project and encourages interested individuals to join the meeting.
Los Alamos County retained FBT Architects and Groundwork Studio to prepare a site assessment of the project to include conceptual designs and rough project cost estimates.
Capital Projects & Facilities Manager Sara Rhoton mentioned that “the overall goal of the project is to establish eight tennis courts in one location to facilitate the ability for schools and community organizations to host tennis tournaments.”
The project is in the pre-design or “planning” phase to determine the location and related budgetary needs for design and construction.
“Public input during this planning phase is important,” Rhyton said. “It’s a great opportunity for the community to provide their views, which we plan to share with the Parks and Recreation Board and County Council.”

For those unable to attend the meeting, comments or questions will be accepted until Nov. 3. Email the Public Works Department at lacpw@lacnm.us or call 505.662.8150.
