Tsikumu Village – Road Improvements:

Albuquerque Asphalt began milling operations last week and will be milling on Saturday, April 27. Paving operations are underway throughout the village, with work estimated to be finished no later than Saturday, May 4, weather permitting. The remaining milling work will be completed Wednesday through Friday. To clear the streets for this work, residents are asked to please remove all vehicles from their street during work activities 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Concrete work will be suspended next week because paving operations, sidewalk and curb ramp work are being completed. Access to residences as well as mail/package delivery, school and transit routes, emergency services, trash/recycle/yard waste pick-up will be maintained.

Other road construction projects:

N.M. 502 Roundabout and Road Reconstruction (NMDOT project)

Star Paving will continue working on placing detour pavement on the north side of N.M. 502 (Eastern area residential/airport side) and along the west shoulder of 4th Street to Central Avenue. During detour paving, flagging operations will be in effect 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and traffic may be stopped for short durations for one lane passage through the work zone.

Traffic advisories from NMDOT are available on www.nmroads.com and motorists are asked to check the site for updates on this project as it proceeds.

TA-21 Clean Up Project – DP Road (N3B project)

Clean up work on the LANL TA-21 Site at the far eastern end of DP Road continues. Large trucks carrying away demolition debris containers will be exiting DP Road at an average of approximately three trucks per day. Motorists are asked to be alert for trucks exiting; use caution when entering or exiting DP Road, as this area is in close proximity to the N.M. 502 Road Reconstruction project.

Sherwood – Road Construction (CableCom project)

CableCom will be working on an open cut trench in the intersection of Sherwood Boulevard at N.M. 4, near the White Rock Branch Library, which will require a partial lane and sidewalk closure. Work begins Monday and should conclude no later than Friday. During lane closures, traffic will be routed to Bonnie View Drive and Longview Drive. Motorists are asked to slow down and use caution in the work zone.
