Last weekend, the Los Alamos Co+op Market celebrated their first annual Co+op Fest, as a part of National Co-op Month.
Parents enjoyed deli samples and shopping and while their children searched for clues to the scavenger hunt and jumped in the bouncy house donated by Little Forest Playschool.
The Co+op featured items from 17 different cooperative businesses, including ones using internationally sourced ingredients. For instance, EveryDay Shea uses shea butter from Alaffia Shea Butter Cooperative in Sokode, Togo, Africa. Some of the most popular cooperative items were the samples from the Co+op’s deli.
Holding events that promote the cooperative movement is one of the ways that the Los Alamos Co+op Market works to create a strong, cooperative community.
The Los Alamos Co+op Market can be found at two locations: 95 Entrada Dr. and inside Fusion Multisport on Central across from CB FOX. Visit www.losalamos.coop or call the Co+op 505.695.1579 for more information.
