Council Seeks To Appoint Members To Board Of Registration

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County Council is seeking to appoint members to the local Board of Registration.

To apply, individuals should submit a letter with their name, address and a short paragraph indicating why they are interested in serving on the Board.

Letters should be emailed no later than 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 17, to LACManager@lacnm.us.

The Board serves as the Canvassing Committee following Los Alamos County elections. It consists of five members, with no more than two members appointed from any political party. The Board is appointed for two-year terms every June/July of odd years.

Interested applicants must be:

  • A registered voter in Los Alamos County
  • Over the age of 18 and a resident of Los Alamos County
  • Shall not be a County employee (including poll workers), or an elected official or candidate for public office (including School Board or UNM-LA Advisory Board)

Consideration and appointment of the Board will be on the Council’s June 24, 2025, meeting agenda (6 p.m.). Candidates who submit a letter do not need to be present.
