COUNTY NEWS:
Saturday, Aug. 9, members of the public are encouraged to stop by the Los Alamos County Council’s booth at the County Fair and visit with Councilors and County staff about a variety of projects, topics and areas of interest, including pro-code enforcement, property maintenance, and the comprehensive planning efforts getting underway.
Members of the White Rock Master Plan Implementation Committee will be on hand to update the public on current White Rock projects.
Representatives from Los Alamos Airport will have information about commercial air service and flight schedules between Los Alamos and Albuquerque’s Sunport. The airport is sponsoring a drawing for a free round trip flight on New Mexico Airlines – individuals can complete a short survey at the booth with name, phone and email address and be entered with a chance to win. The drawing is Monday, Aug. 11. In addition, visitors to the booth can fill out a brief communications survey and be entered in a drawing at 2 p.m. to win a beautifully framed photo of Los Alamos. Winners need not be present to win either drawing.
Fair-goers also will have the chance to visit the County Clerk’s booth nearby. They’ll have the new ICE voting machine to be used in the November General Election, plus offer the opportunity to register to vote, take a quiz on citizenship questions, and register for FraudSleuth.
The Council’s booth opens after the parade ends and will be staffed until 2 p.m. at Ashley Pond Park.
