COUNTY News:
Los Alamos County has opened the application period for individuals to apply for Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) funding for childcare assistance and/or virtual learning assistance.
Individuals impacted by COVID-19 since March 1, 2020 who reside in Los Alamos County and meet income qualifications are encouraged to apply.

For the childcare assistance program, residents who have experienced a COVID-19 related financial hardship and meet income qualifications can apply for both reimbursements of childcare costs, or outstanding balances due to a qualified childcare facility.
For the virtual learning assistance program, residents can apply for a one-time grant award to help with virtual schooling during COVID-19.
The program is open to Los Alamos County residents with school age children who are attending virtual schooling and reside in the Los Alamos Public School District. These awards will range from $100-$500 per household and are dependent upon income and residency qualifications.
The application period for both programs will close at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20.
Because of the ongoing pandemic, applicants are asked to email their applications to the County for processing to CARESassistance@lacnm.us. Questions can be sent to this same email, or, by calling the Social Services Division office at 505.663.1966, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
