Los Alamos County Community Services Department (CSD) Director Cory Styron, third from top right, presents his department’s proposed FY2022 budget, which totals $16,321,139, during the Monday night budget hearing. Council tentatively approved the budget 7-0 along with several budget add-ons, which include – among other expenditures – $75,000 for an ADA Transition Plan for all outdoor facilities, $13,000 for technology and equipment to support virtual programming and library operations and $50,000 for Canyon and Mesa top restoration at Upper Pueblo Canyon. Council agreed to discuss at a future budget hearing several budget options, which include $100,000 for a strategic plan for family, human and social services, $15,000 for play structures for the leisure pool, $25,000 for the library collection and $150,000 for a new tennis court design.
