COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County Parks and Open Space Division is holding a Pueblo Canyon (Anderson) Overlook Cleanup on Earth Day, April 22.

This project will focus on cleaning up trash that has been accumulating underneath the Pueblo Canyon Overlook along N.M. 502 for years. Volunteers also may choose to help maintain the Tent Rocks Trail where water drains and a rock bridge is to be built.

Los Alamos County will provide all the tools necessary for the project, including hard hats. Registered volunteers will meet at 9 a.m. at the Pueblo Canyon access road parking area, at the bottom of the Main Hill on the north side of N.M. 502 (see map below) and expect to be working until 1 p.m. Volunteers will need to wear boots, gloves, long pants, long sleeve shirt, and eye protection. Remember to bring water and snacks for the day.

Anyone interested will need to register. Registration  will be limited to 15 volunteers (due to parking constraints) and waiver forms will be filled out on site.

Direct questions to Eric Peterson at eric.peterson@lacnm.us or call 505.663.1776.
