This project includes the design and construction of both new and reconstructed multi-use trails along N.M. 4 between Sherwood Boulevard and La Vista Drive and within Piñon Park in White Rock. The planned improvements will enhance connectivity and safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
Key features of the project include:
- Approximately 3,500 feet of existing multi-use trails will be reconstructed to improve user experience and accessibility.
- Approximately 2,500 feet of new multi-use trail alignment will be added, providing additional paths for multi-modal transportation and recreational use.
- A reduction in lanes on N.M. 4 is being evaluated to reduce the westbound direction from the existing 2 lanes to 1 to facilitate a mid-block crossing of N.M. 4 as will the need for a Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (HAWK) to further enhance the midblock crossing.
