County P&Z Commission Meets Virtually Wednesday Jan. 13

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos Planning and Zoning Commission is meeting virtually at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13.

In accordance with the New Mexico Department of Health public emergency order governing mass gatherings due to COVID-19, this meeting will be held remotely via Zoom. Proceedings can be viewed at https:////losalamos.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx.

On the agenda is a public hearing of TNJLA, LLC’s request for approval of a site plan for a four-story Marriott Town Place Suites hotel along with a 6,740 gross square-foot conference center at 1925 Trinity Dr., along the terminus of the 20th Street extension, which is within the Downtown Neighborhood Center Overlay District (DT-NCO).

The conference center building is proposing a maximum 30-foot height. This request also includes a separate waiver from Los Alamos County to allow additional height to the hotel building in excess of the maximum height of 45 feet as specified in the DTNCO design standards for buildings within 150 feet of the Los Alamos Canyon. The requested height range is 49 feet 6 inches to 60 feet 3inches at the structures highest point.

The agenda for Wednesday’s meeting also includes reports from the department, commission chair, council liaison and commission comments.
