Due to continued inclement weather, Los Alamos County Manager Steven Lynne has ordered a delayed start for the morning of Friday, Jan. 5, 2024. Non-essential government administrative offices will open at 10 a.m.
Some additional information about county services is as follows:
- Atomic City Transit fixed route service will begin at approximately 7 a.m. Friday morning. For specific route information, visit https://www.losalamosnm.us/Services/Atomic-City-Transit or check ACTracker.
- The Aquatic Center plans to open at 10 a.m.
- The Ice Rink opening time will be determined on Friday morning.
- The Golf Course Pro Shop will open at 10 a.m. The course will be closed for golf but open for cross-country skiing if there is enough snow.
- Residential and commercial trash collection is anticipated to operate as usual. Residents whose collection day is Friday should have their carts out by 8 a.m.
- County Traffic and Street crews will continue to clear the major roads and streets according to the FY24 Snow and Ice Control Plan. The community can help facilitate snow removal by parking vehicles off the street.
The County’s MyDrive site individuals to view the conditions of major roadways within Los Alamos County. Users should select the intersection image to activate the live feed on Rumble. Drivers are asked to slow down and be cautious of hazardous conditions.
