Piñon Park Splash Pad Opens For Summer Season May 24

The Los Alamos County Parks and Open Space Division has announced the Piñon Park Splash Pad at 10 Sherwood Blvd. in White Rock will open for the summer season at 10 a.m. Friday, May 24.
The Splash Pad will be operational 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week and is scheduled to remain open through Labor Day weekend, Sept. 2.

Solar energy is the only abundant energy source in Los Alamos County, with tens of Megawatts of potential solar energy in our residential areas. Yet, Los Alamos County has a very modest solar program. We have a solar facility at the old landfill and a few Megawatts of solar on residential properties. Council Approves MRA Boundaries For Downtown East

In its continuous efforts for economic development, Los Alamos County Council voted to approve the boundaries of a Metropolitan Redevelopment Area (MRA) in the eastern side of the Los Alamos downtown district at Tuesay’s meeting.

Gas Line Work To Occur On Grand Canyon Thursday

Los Alamos County Department of Public Utilities has announced that gas line maintenance will occur Thursday, May 9, near 122 Grand Canyon in White Rock. The work will involve the installation of an anode, which is a normal preventative measure.
The work is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and should conclude by 4 p.m.
Drivers should expect to see flagging operations and Grand Canyon traffic reduced to one lane as they approach the work zone. They are reminded to slow down and drive cautiously. Read More
