Los Alamos County has made a lot of commitments to environmental sustainability – whether it is reaching carbon neutrality by 2040, implementing a municipal food compost program or installing electric vehicle charging stations. The Los Alamos County Council presented a proclamation to the Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization (LARSO) during the Tuesday night meeting in Council Chambers.
LARSO is celebrating 25 years running the local senior centers. Councilor Lepsch presented the proclamation to Director Bernadette Lauritzen.

County: Public Land Solutions To Hold Stakeholder Meeting

Public Land Solutions is coming to Los Alamos to host a stakeholder meeting 5:30 p.m. Jan. 31, at Bathtub Row Brewing Co-op in Central Park Square.

County: Water Main Break On Connie Avenue In White Rock

Residents on Connie Avenue may experience low water pressure due to a water main break in the neighborhood.
Traffic will be closed to through traffic from Cheryl to Aragon Street while Gas, Water & Sewer crews from the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) repair the break.

Los Alamos County Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off Moves To Monthly Schedule

Los Alamos County’s Environmental Services Manager Angelica Gurule announced today a change to the household hazardous waste program.
The existing weekly drop off schedule will move to a monthly schedule, with new hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., beginning Feb. 3.
Residents who already pay for curbside collection can drop off household hazardous materials once a month at the Eco Station at 3701 East Jemez Road.

Los Alamos County is seeking volunteers willing to test the navigation structure for a new Los Alamos County website.

Los Alamos County Manager Steven Lynne has ordered a two-hour delay for all non-essential county government facilities today, Jan. 17, due to hazardous weather conditions.
County crews are working to clear major roads and streets according to the FY23 Snow and Ice Control Plan.
