Local Vaccine Clinic Monday March 15 – Appointments Only

COUNTY News:

Nambe Drugs, Los Alamos County, and the New Mexico Department of Public Health (NMDOH) are holding a vaccine clinic Monday, March 15 at the Auxiliary Gym at Los Alamos High School, 1300 Diamond Dr.

Appointments are required to receive a vaccine. No walk-ins will be accepted.  

Note: This clinic includes booster appointments for individual who received the first dose of the Moderna vaccine Feb. 14.

County officials remind individuals that upon appointment check-in they will need to provide the NMDOH confirmation code as well as insurance and Medicare cards as applicable.

As far as the pandemic – the future is starting to look hopeful. It was on that optimistic note that the Los Alamos County Council approved an amendment to the general services agreement with Sancre Productions, LLC during its Tuesday night 9 meeting.

The amendment, which passed unanimously, modifies the scope of services for Sancre Productions, which organizes and operates the Los Alamos County Summer Concert Series. Read More

Reagor: Purchase Of Commercial Properties By County

The county has proposed to purchase two properties in Los Alamos, the CB Fox department store and the Reel Deal Theater. We’ve seen an extraordinary number of business closures in Los Alamos, and White Rock is even worse.

Can we buy up all the empty space and make use of it? Of course not, so why start with these two properties?

Los Alamos Golf Course Opens For Season Monday!

The Los Alamos County Golf Course will begin its regular season hours starting Monday, March 15.

The Pro Shop will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week, with tee times available 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday for all 18 holes.

Golf Car rentals will be available but must be returned by 6:30 p.m. Course conditions and opening is weather dependent.

Greetings Los Alamos,

Let me begin this column with a brief COVID-19 update.

Los Alamos’s hard work has resulted in us achieving green status on Feb. 24. This new status has reduced restrictions on our businesses and recreational facilities. Additionally, if we can maintain green status for two consecutive periods, our community will move to the turquoise level. This newest level lifts almost all restrictions, and brings us closer to “normal”.

Health Department Reports Los Alamos At Turquoise Level!

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health today announced the updated statewide COVID-19 map for the two-week period beginning today, March 10.

Los Alamos and six other New Mexico counties have advanced to the Turquoise Level, which is the least restrictive of all the levels.

Seven counties have moved to the Green Level, at which there are fewer restrictions on commercial and day-to-day activities amid decreased virus risk.

March 16 Council Meeting To Focus On CB Fox, Reel Deal Possible Purchase; Adding Meeting On Tuesday March 23

COUNTY News:

The March 16 Los Alamos County Council meeting agenda will focus primarily on the possible purchase of the CB Fox and Reel Deal buildings.

The only other agenda item that evening will be a public hearing for a labor management relations ordinance.

Items that were scheduled to be considered on March 16 will be moved to a newly-added Council meeting Tuesday, March 23.

Council meetings continue to be held online using the Zoom platform during the COVID-19 pandemic. Links for both meetings will be furnished when agendas are published.

Both meetings begin at 6 p.m. on Zoom.
