Daily Postcard: The Walnut Rim Trail is a great place to find Warblers. There local wildlife photographer Jonathan Dowell, Ph.D. found this Grace’s Warbler singing its spring courtship song all morning this past weekend. Most common in Los Alamos between the end of April through the end of June, a few can be found here as late as September. These warblers often prefer the tops of pine trees, making them easiest to find by listening for their songs. Find recordings of those songs on Cornell University’s website, eBird.org.
