Daily Postcard: A Satyr Comma butterfly is spotted perched on a log Sunday afternoon along Water Canyon Trail. The Satyr Comma is one of several Pajarito Plateau species that have a small, translucent ‘comma’ on the well-camouflaged underside of the wing. Adults hibernate in clusters of dead leaves and under loose tree bark through the winter and emerge in March, April or May.
